Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system over southeast Australia extends a ridge across the
north with winds turning more east to northeast over the northern inland during
Friday and Saturday. A new ridge will move over the state during Sunday
resulting in a return of southeasterly winds, apart from the Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will move over the South West Land Division on Friday morning. A
fresh to strong and gusty west to southwesterly flow will follow in the wake of
the front later Friday and through Saturday. A ridge will then develop over the
northern Southwest Land Division later Saturday and extend east across central
parts of the State on Sunday. A strong cold front is then forecast to move
through on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 29 July
Showers southwest of a line from Carnarvon to Esperance during the morning and
extending to Coral Bay to Forrest during the afternoon and evening. Chance of
gusty thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne,
southwest Goldfields and western Eucla.

Forecast for Saturday 30 July
Showers south of a line from Coral Bay to Warburton, most likely over the Lower
West, South West and South coastal districts. Chance of gusty thunderstorms
near the coast between Augusta and Albany and also over the Eucla. Possible
small hail over far southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 31 July
Showers near the west and south coasts of the South West Land Division, south
of Jurien Bay and along the Eucla coast. Possible early showers over the South
Interior. Morning frost possible over the inland South West Land Division,
southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and western South Interior.

Forecast for Monday 1 August
Windy over the west and south of the State. Showers about far western parts of
the State extending to southwest of Onslow to Warburton during the day. Chance
of squally thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne
and southwest Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
