Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over west Pilbara extending to the Gascoyne and Interior will slowly
move east this week. Another shallow trough near the Kimberley west coast and
Pilbara northwest coast will move offshore for a period in the mornings.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the Gascoyne is slowly moving east. A weakening cold front will
contract into the Bight during today. A low pressure system and associated
active trough will approach the southwest of the State later today and will
move across the southwest early on Tuesday. Another cold front will brush past
the southwest coast later on Wednesday, followed by a high pressure system on
Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 23 May
Showers southwest of a line Pardoo to Giles. Heavy falls possible about the
west coast south of Jurien Bay. Possible gusty thunderstorms over western and
southern parts of the South West Land Division, western parts of Southern
Interior, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Windy over the southern half of the
State. Heavy falls possible over the Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 May
Showers over the northern parts of South West Land Division, southwest
Gascoyne, southern Goldfields and central Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms
possible over the South Interior, southern parts of the South West Land
Division and Eucla. Windy over the southern half of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 May
Showers over the southern and western parts of the South West Land Division and
Eucla district coast.
Forecast for Thursday 26 May
Showers over the southern parts of the South West Land Division, far southern
Goldfields and Eucla district.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
