Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies near the Kimberley coast to the inland Pilbara. It will offshore
over for a period this morning. Another trough over the west Pilbara will move
slowly east later today and into early next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge lies over central parts of the State contracting slowly eastwards
as a cold front approaches the west coast over the weekend. The cold front
moves inland Sunday afternoon and evening, weakening as it contracts into the
Bight by Monday. A low pressure system approaches the southwest of the State
late Monday night, crossing the coast Tuesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 21 May
Showers over the Eucla, southern Goldfields and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division. Showers and thunderstorms over the western half of the Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South and Southeast coastal districts.
Forecast for Sunday 22 May
Showers southwest of a line Port Hedland to Giles. Thunderstorms possible over
most of the South West Land Division, the northeast Gascoyne, western and
central Pilbara, western South Interior and Goldfields.
Forecast for Monday 23 May
Showers southwest of a line Port Hedland to Giles. Heavy falls possible about
the west coast south of Jurien Bay. Possible thunderstorms over western and
southern parts of the South West Land Division, Southern Interior, northern and
eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Windy over the southern half of the State.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 May
Showers over the South West Land Division, southwest Gascoyne, southern
Goldfields and southeast Pilbara. Showers and thunderstorms possible over the
South Interior and Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
