Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A drier easterly flow will persist this week. A trough is expected to develop
over the Pilbara on Friday and extend to the Kimberley by the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A shallow trough lies over inland agricultural areas, while a ridge over the
southeast of the State weakens. On Wednesday and Thursday, a cloud band and
associated cold front will sweep across southern and western parts of the State.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 11 May
Rain and showers developing over the South West Land Division and over far
western Gascoyne during the day.
Forecast for Thursday 12 May
Rain and showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, western Pilbara,
Goldfields and Eucla. Possible heavy falls about the west coast, inland parts
of Lower West, the Great Southern, South Coastal, eastern South West Coastal
district, northwest Gascoyne and western Pilbara. Gusty thunderstorms about the
southwest coast, northwest Gascoyne and western Pilbara.
Forecast for Friday 13 May
Showers southwest of a line Bidyadanga to Giles. Thunderstorms possible over
the far southwest Kimberley and northern Pilbara. Windy over southern parts of
the State.
Forecast for Saturday 14 May
Showers over southwest Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior and south of a line
Kalbarri to Forrest. Thunderstorms possible over southwest Kimberley, northeast
Pilbara and adjacent Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
