Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends near the coast from the Kimberley to the Pilbara. It will
push offshore from the Pilbara and far west Kimberley coasts for a period in
the morning over the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system south of Perth in the Great Southern Ocean
maintains a firm ridge over the south of the State. The high will slowly east
during the remainder of Friday and over the weekend. A weak west coast trough
will move inland on Monday ahead of a series of cold fronts across the south
next week.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 22 April
Areas of smoke haze possible over parts of the Lower West and South West
districts. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the southwest Pilbara.
Possible light showers near the south and Eucla coasts.
Forecast for Saturday 23 April
Areas of smoke haze possible over parts of the Lower West and South West
districts. Showers over the South Coastal, Southeast Coastal, Eucla, adjacent
South Interior and southern Goldfields. Chance of thunderstorms over the
southern parts of Goldfields, Southeast Coastal district and Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 24 April
Showers over the eastern parts of the Southeast Coastal district, Eucla,
southeast Goldfields and adjacent South Interior.
Forecast for Monday 25 April
Showers developing over the Southwest Capes in the afternoon and extending to
Geraldton to Albany by late evening. Possible thunderstorms developing near
coastal parts between Lancelin and Albany in the evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 26 April
Showers southwest of a line Coral Bay to Eyre. Possible thunderstorms near the
coast between Bunbury and Albany.
