Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends near the coast from the Kimberley to the Pilbara. It will
push offshore from the Pilbara and far west Kimberley coasts for a period in
the mornings from Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing near the south coast with another weak
front to brush the south coast on Tuesday. The ridge will begin to drift south
of the State in the wake of the front and remain there throughout the rest of
the week. A cloud band extending from the Gascoyne and into the Interior will
persist until the middle of the week.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 18 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley. Showers over the
South Interior, far northern Goldfields, near southwestern coastal parts of the
South West Land Division and eastern Eucla. Showers tending to rain with
possible thunderstorms over the northern Gascoyne. Chance of showers over the
inland western Pilbara in the afternoon.
Forecast for Tuesday 19 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley, southern
parts of the Pilbara. Rain over the northern Gascoyne. Showers over western
parts of the South Interior, northern parts of the Goldfields. Showers about
the south coast to the west of Israelite Bay.
Forecast for Wednesday 20 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers over the
northeast Gascoyne, Southern Interior and far southern coastal districts of the
State.
Forecast for Thursday 21 April
Showers and thunderstorms over the far northwest Kimberley. Showers along the
south and Eucla coasts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
