Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Anika located inland near the border between Pilbara and
North Interior is moving southeast and will weaken overnight. A broad area of
low pressure remains over the remainder.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the northeast Gascoyne to the South Interior and is
associated with a cloud band. A ridge of high pressure is extending across the
south coast. A new trough will develop near the Gascoyne coast from Friday and
extend south along the west coast on the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 4 March
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the South Interior and far southern
parts of the North Interior, easing during the day. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Eucla, and remaining
Interior. Chance of a light shower near the south coast.

Forecast for Saturday 5 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, eastern parts of
the North Interior and western Pilbara. Patchy rain or showers over the South
Interior and northeast Eucla. Few light showers in the far south of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 6 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, northern parts of
the North Interior and northwestern Pilbara. Few light showers near the south
coast, southern Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Monday 7 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most parts of the Kimberley, northern parts of
the North Interior and northern Pilbara. Few light showers in the south of the
State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
