Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Pilbara to the Kimberley. A monsoon trough will move
over the northern Kimberley waters by the weekend. A tropical low is expected
to form within the monsoon trough.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A persistent ridge of high pressure about the southern coastline this week is
expected to weaken over the weekend. Meanwhile, a trough will be in the
vicinity of the west coast throughout the week.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 20 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northwest Pilbara, and
eastern Interior. Chance of a light coastal shower east of Israelite Bay this
morning.

Forecast for Friday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Pilbara, North Interior
and northeastern parts of South Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 22 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and
northeastern parts of South Interior. Heavy falls possible about the Kimberley
coasts.

Forecast for Sunday 23 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and far
northeastern parts of South Interior. Heavy falls possible over the northern
Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
