Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over central parts of the Pilbara extends to the North Interior. A
southeasterly change will push the eastern extent of the trough over the North
Interior into the Kimberley through today.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A persistent ridge of high pressure will remain about the southern coastline
this week and is expected to weaken over the weekend. Meanwhile, a trough will
be in the vicinity of the west coast throughout the week.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 19 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne
and parts of the Interior. Damaging wind gusts may be possible with
thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Chance of a light coastal shower
east of Israelite Bay.

Forecast for Thursday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northwest Pilbara, and eastern
Interior.

Forecast for Friday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern Pilbara, North Interior
and northeastern parts of South Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 22 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and
northeastern parts of South Interior. Heavy falls possible about the Kimberley
coasts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
