Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the Pilbara to the North Interior. The western half
of the trough will move southeastwards on Saturday and Sunday before extending
back to western parts of the Pilbara early next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over the Bight whilst a trough deepens over the
inland Gascoyne and down the west coast. The trough will move inland from the
west coast today and continue to move east on Sunday as a new ridge of high
pressure develops south of the State on Sunday and Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and adjacent South Interior. The chance of a thunderstorms
over the South East Coastal district. Chance of light showers along the western
south coast. Areas of raised dust possible over inland parts of the South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, Interior, eastern South East Coastal district and
Eucla. Chance of light showers along the south coast between Walpole and
Esperance.

Forecast for Monday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne,
North Interior and northern South Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, and
adjacent Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
