Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extending from the Pilbara to the North Interior should remain
near stationary today. On Saturday, the western half of the trough will move
southeastwards.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies south of the State whilst a trough deepens over
the inland Gascoyne and down the west coast. The trough will continue to deepen
and move inland from the west coast from Saturday. A new ridge of high pressure
will begin developing south of the State on Sunday and Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 7 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, and
northwestern parts of the North Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and adjacent South Interior. Possible thunderstorm over the
South East Coastal district and adjacent Goldfields and Eucla. Chance of light
showers along the western south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, Interior, eastern South East Coastal district and
Eucla. Showers possible over the South West and South Coastal districts.

Forecast for Monday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne
and North Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
