Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends over the Kimberley and Pilbara. A tropical low on the
west coast of the Top End should track eastward during Sunday and Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure extends over the southeast of the State, while a
trough near the west coast extends into the western Gascoyne. Hot to very hot
daytime temperatures away from the south coast will continue over the remainder
of the weekend and much of next week.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley.
Possible shower or gusty thunderstorm over the western Pilbara, western
Gascoyne, Central West and South West. Strong winds and heavy falls possible
about the north Kimberley coast. Very hot over southern parts away from the
south coast.
Forecast for Monday 27 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Possible shower or thunderstorm
over the Pilbara, west Gascoyne and southwestern parts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over southern parts away from the south coast.
Forecast for Tuesday 28 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Possible shower or thunderstorm
over the Pilbara and far northwest Gascoyne. Very hot over southern parts away
from the south coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 29 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Possible shower or thunderstorm
over the Pilbara and eastern Interior. Very hot over southern parts away from
the south coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
