Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A heat trough over the North Interior extends west over the Pilbara. On
Thursday and Friday, the trough will move eastwards to be located near the
border on Friday. Another trough will develop on Friday near the Pilbara coast
extending to the southern Kimberley/northern North Interior.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extends south of the State with a high pressure system in
the Bight. A broad trough lies over the inland Gascoyne and South West Land
Division. The trough will move eastwards to be over the Goldfields/Southeast
Coastal district on Thursday, and near the border on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 15 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, Interior, northern
and western Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne and northeast Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Thursday 16 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, eastern and
southern Interior, southeast Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Possible light showers along the western south coast.
Forecast for Friday 17 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, and northeastern
parts of the North Interior. Showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to
Esperance.
Forecast for Saturday 18 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, and northeastern
parts of the North Interior. Possible morning light coastal showers between
Dunsborough and Albany.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
