Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A heat trough over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara remains near stationary
over the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high lies south of the Bight and contracts away to the east as a deep trough
near the west coast moves inland Thursday afternoon. The trough continues to
move eastwards reaching the Goldfields on Friday and the Eucla and South
Interior on Saturday. A new ridge develops over western parts of the State on
Saturday before establishing itself near the south coast on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 9 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara and
North Interior. Showers and thunderstorms inland from the west coast and
southern parts of the SOLD, clearing from the west in the afternoon.
Forecast for Friday 10 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
North and South Interior, north and east Goldfields and northeast Gascoyne.
Possible light showers near coastal parts of the South West district.
Forecast for Saturday 11 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne and Interior. Possible light showers near mainly coastal
parts between Mandurah and Albany.
Forecast for Sunday 12 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara and
Interior. Light showers possible along the south coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
