Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the inland Kimberley and extends back through the
Pilbara. The Pilbara trough will contract southeast into the Interior on
Monday, then a new trough will deepen across the north Pilbara coast later
Monday into Tuesday. A ridge will strengthen into western parts of the Pilbara
from late Sunday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends through the Interior and will contract east into South
Australia this morning as a high pressure ridge moves quickly through the
Southern Ocean to reach the Bight later today. A new trough will deepen near
the west coast today. A low pressure system will move southward along the
trough tonight and Sunday, with the trough expected to start moving towards the
east on Sunday. By late Monday the trough will be passing through the Eucla and
Goldfields as a stronger ridge becomes established over southern and western
parts of the State.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 20 November
Rain and the chance of thunderstorms over the eastern South Interior, with a
chance of showers over the eastern Goldfields, Eucla and mainly southern and
eastern parts of the South East Coastal District. Slight chance of
thunderstorms over the far northern Kimberley, with very hot conditions
persisting over most of the region. Sunny skies through much of the Gascoyne,
Central West, Lower West and South West.

Forecast for Sunday 21 November
Showers and thunderstorms possible through much of the South West Land
Division, though less likely in the Central West and South East Coastal
District. Thunderstorms in the Perth hills, Wheat Belt, Great Southern and
eastern South West may be severe with heavy rainfall and damaging winds.
Possible showers and storms in the Goldfields and southern Gascoyne with the
slight chance of showers through the remainder of the Gascoyne and the western
Pilbara. Remaining very hot in the Kimberley with the chance of thunderstorms
over northern parts.

Forecast for Monday 22 November
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the Goldfields, eastern South West Land
Division, northeast Gascoyne, southeast Pilbara, South Interior and Eucla.
Possible showers through most of the remaining South West Land Division, most
likely about the Lower West, South West, Great Southern and South Coastal
District. Very hot through the Kimberley with possible showers and storms in
the north.

Forecast for Tuesday 23 November
Slight chance of showers in the South West, Great Southern and southern and
eastern Goldfields, with a medium chance over the South Coastal and South East
Coastal Districts, Eucla, and southern South Interior. Mostly sunny over the
Gascoyne and western and northern South West Land Division. Possible storms in
the northern and eastern Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
