Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the northwest Kimberley through the southern part of the
NT but will weaken through the day today. Another trough near the Pilbara coast
will contract towards the southeast during today, and extend from the Interior
through the east Pilbara coast on Tuesday and Wednesday. A new ridge will
strengthen into the west Pilbara from today.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge over the southeast of the State is weakening as a trough near the west
coast and moves east. The trough will push through the Goldfields today as a
cold front crosses the lower west coast. The front and southern part of the
trough will clear into South Australia on Tuesday as the northern part of the
trough lingers back through the Interior. A weakening cold front is expected to
cross the west coast on Wednesday night, then a ridge will strengthen through
southern and western parts of the State on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 25 October
Much cooler through most of the South West Land Division with showers, most
widespread over southern and western parts. Windy and hot with possible blowing
dust in the eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields and western Eucla. Showers and
thunderstorms possible over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a late
afternoon shower or thunderstorm in the southeast Goldfields and western Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 October
Tending much cooler through the Goldfields, Eucla and Esperance region. Showers
continuing through the South West Land Division, again most widespread over
southern and western parts. Small hail may fall with showers over the southwest
part of the region. Possible showers and thunderstorms in the Eucla, southern
South Interior, and northern and eastern Kimberley. Hot and windy with possible
blowing dust in the northern South Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 27 October
Remaining unseasonably cool and showery across the South West Land Division,
with possible thunderstorms in southern parts of the region. Chance of showers
extending into the southern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers and thunderstorms
possible over mainly northern and eastern parts of the Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 28 October
Showers contracting to the south coast districts and southern parts of the
Goldfields and Great Southern. Possible showers and storms in the north and
east Kimberley. Cold temperatures in the morning over the inland South West
Land Division with patchy frost possible in parts of the Great Southern and
Wheat Belt.
