Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends southeastwards from the northwest Kimberley into the southern
part of the NT, and will remain in place during the next few days. A branch of
the trough is deepening westwards over the Pilbara coast and will move offshore
early each morning during the weekend, then back over the coast with the
afternoon sea breezes. The trough will contract into inland parts of the
Pilbara during Sunday night and Monday as a ridge strengthens into the west
Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge extends through western and southern WA. A high will move south of the
State today as a trough deepens down the west coast, with the high moving
through the Bight on Sunday. The trough will move inland through the eastern
South West Land Division and Goldfields on Monday as a cold front brushes the
southwest corner of the State. On Tuesday the southern part of the trough will
clear into South Australia while the northern part of the trough lingers back
through the Interior.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 23 October
Remaining very hot across much of the Kimberley with possible afternoon showers
and thunderstorms in northern and eastern parts. Fresh and gusty winds east to
southeasterly winds in the morning over the Interior and east Pilbara. Tending
warmer through the Gascoyne and Mid West.

Forecast for Sunday 24 October
Possible showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley with very
hot conditions in central and western parts. Very warm to hot through the
inland Gascoyne and inland parts of the northern South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 25 October
Much cooler through most of the South West Land Division with showers likely,
especially through southern and western parts. Windy and hot with possible
blowing dust in the eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields and western Eucla. Showers and
thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley and eastern parts of the North
Interior.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 October
Possible showers and thunderstorms in the northern and eastern Goldfields.
Showers throughout the South West Land Division, most widespread in southern
and western parts. Chance of a thunderstorm in the Eucla, mainly early in the
day. Tending much cooler through the Goldfields and Eucla.
