Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over the Kimberley will deepen westward across the Pilbara coast on
Wednesday. Another trough will pass through the west Pilbara during Tuesday
morning before contracting towards the southeast later in the day. A ridge will
strengthen through the inland Pilbara on Wednesday and Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front and rain band will cross western and southern parts of the State
today with a deep low pressure system expected to move over the far southwest
corner of the State on tonight. The low will weaken rapidly on Wednesday, and a
weak trough will brush the southwest corner of the state during the evening. A
high pressure ridge will extend across the Mid West on Wednesday then will
strengthen over the south coast on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 19 October
Windy with showers and rain areas over most of the western and southern half of
the State. Moderate to heavy falls over western districts. Damaging winds
possible from the far southern Pilbara through the eastern Gascoyne,
Goldfields, South East Coastal District and Eucla during the day, and late in
the day over the west coast south of Shark Bay. Chance of thunderstorms
southwest of Shark Bay to Bremer Bay and in the northern Kimberley. Areas of
raised dust possible over the inland Gascoyne and Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 20 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, Goldfields, southern Gascoyne, Eucla
and South Interior. Damaging winds possible in the early morning over the west
coast south of Shark Bay. Chance of thunderstorms over the Eucla and southern
South Interior, as well as the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 21 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, mostly during the morning. Chance of
thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 22 October
Possible showers over the southwest corner and along the south coast. Chance of
mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
