Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the central Kimberley to the Pilbara coast with a high
pressure ridge developing near the south coast. The trough will continue to
deepen over the west Pilbara today and Friday before contracting into the
Interior on Saturday and Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing near the south coast as a deep low
pressure system continues moving northeast through the Bight. A trough will
develop near the west coast today and deepen further on Friday. The trough will
move slowly through the South West Land Division on Saturday and extend from
the south coast through the Goldfields to the South Interior by Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 14 October
Chance of a shower near the south coast and Eucla coast. A chance of an
afternoon shower or thunderstorm in the north Kimberley. Possible morning frost
over the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and southwest Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 15 October
Possible shower or thunderstorm, most likely in the afternoon and evening, over
the Central Wheat Belt, inland Central West, northeast Lower West, southeast
Gascoyne and the northern Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 16 October
Possible shower or thunderstorm over the southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla,
South Interior, north and east Kimberley, and over the South West Land Division
away from the Central West district.
Forecast for Sunday 17 October
Possible shower or thunderstorm over the north and east Kimberley and the
northeast Interior. Showers over the southeast Interior, eastern Eucla and
southern and western parts of the South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
