Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies over South Australia and will drift slowly
east over the coming days. A fresh to strong easterly flow will persist over
northern parts for most of the working week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies over South Australia, and will drift slowly
east over the coming days. A trough will move over southwestern parts of the
State during Wednesday and Thursday, but will fail to progress further east due
to the influence of the high pressure system over eastern Australia. The ridge
will weaken on Friday as a weak front brushes the south coast during the day.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 8 September
Showers developing southwest of a line from Lancelin to Hopetoun, with areas of
evening rain over the South West and the adjacent South Coastal districts.

Forecast for Thursday 9 September
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay tending to rain
areas over the South West, Lower West, Great Southern and the South Coastal
districts.

Forecast for Friday 10 September
Showers southwest of a line from Geraldton to Israelite Bay with mainly light
falls over inland parts.

Forecast for Saturday 11 September
Possible morning fog through inland parts of the South West Land Division.
Showers about coastal parts from Kalbarri to Eucla, with a slight chance of a
shower about the Great Southern and southern Goldfields.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
