Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the inland Pilbara and Kimberley, moving eastwards on
Thursday and Friday as a new ridge develops over southern parts of the State.
The ridge will strengthen over the weekend as a high moves into the Bight.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front has moved over the southwest and will move over the southeast
today with a very cold airmass following during Thursday. A ridge then develops
over southern parts of the State on Friday in its wake. The ridge will
strengthen further over the weekend as a strong high moves into the Bight.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 2 September
Showers over southern and central parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne, Eucla and the southern Interior, contracting
towards the southern and Eucla coasts in the late afternoon and evening. The
chance of a thunderstorm and small hail southwest of Lancelin to Israelite Bay.
Possible snow flurries on the Stirling Ranges.

Forecast for Friday 3 September
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division and Eucla coast,
with a chance of a morning showers about the Lower West coast. Possible hail
along the south coast in the morning. Widespread morning frost over the inland
South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne and the Goldfields.

Forecast for Saturday 4 September
Showers over far southwest parts of the State. Chance of showers and
thunderstorms over the eastern Kimberley and northeast Interior. Widespread
frost or fog over the inland South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields, Eucla and the adjacent South Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 5 September
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley and
the adjacent Interior. Showers possible over the south coast west of Albany.
Morning frost areas over the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern, South East
Coastal, southern Goldfields and the inland Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
