Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak ridge lies through central parts of the State, the ridge will strengthen
over the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
Strong northwesterly winds ahead of strong cold front which will move across
southern parts of the State during today and Friday. A ridge of high pressure
will begin to extend through central parts of the State in its wake before
another strong cold front moves over southern parts of the State late on
Saturday and into Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 29 July
Showers southwest of a line from Exmouth to Kalgoorlie to Israelite Bay, with
possible thunderstorms southwest of Mandurah to Hopetoun. Squally damaging
winds possible over the southwest of the State.

Forecast for Friday 30 July
Showers southwest of a line from Onslow to Forrest with thunderstorms possible
southwest of Lancelin to Hopetoun. Gusty winds and small hail possible over
southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 31 July
Showers southwest of a line from Onslow to Warburton, contracting to the South
West Land Division and the southeast parts of the State during the evening.
Thunderstorms possible in the Lower West, South West and South Coastal
districts.

Forecast for Sunday 1 August
Showers extending to areas southwest of a line from Shark Bay to Forrest in the
morning, and then contracting to the south coast during the evening. Squally
winds in the southwest. Thunderstorms possible near the south coast. Snow
possible over the Stirling ranges.
