Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system is moving into the Bight, with fresh and gusty
southeasterly winds over the north of the State for the next couple of
mornings. A trough will develop west of the Pilbara today then move slowly east
to lie over the eastern Pilbara by Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight. A trough will develop off the west
coast today, then move slowly east across the State on Friday and Saturday. A
cold front will move across southwestern parts of the State during Saturday. On
Sunday, a low pressure system may form near the south coast.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 27 May
Showers near the Southwest Capes, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Showers
and possible thunderstorms over the western and southern Pilbara, the northern
and western Gascoyne, and northern parts of the Central West, mostly in the
afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Friday 28 May
Showers and thunderstorms over western areas of the State. Moderate falls
possible about the western Pilbara, western Gascoyne, and northern and western
parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 29 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the far western Pilbara, the Gascoyne, western
Goldfields and throughout the South West Land Division, with some moderate
falls possible. Showers developing over remaining areas southwest of a line
from Port Hedland to Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 30 May
Showers over the Pilbara, the Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and South
West Land Division. Moderate falls possible about the southwest coast and
adjacent inland. Showers mainly clearing from the western Gascoyne and western
Pilbara during the day. Thunderstorms possible over the far southeastern
Pilbara, northwest Interior and northeast Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
