Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system over eastern Australia extends a weak ridge over
southern WA. A weak trough lies near the Pilbara and west Kimberley coasts,
pushing offshore during the mornings. The trough will deepen over the west
Pilbara during Sunday then start to move east as a new ridge of high pressure
establishes over central WA and the Pilbara
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will move across the South West Land Division during this
afternoon and evening, with the remnants pushing through northern and eastern
parts on Sunday. A second, windier cold front will move along the south coast
from Sunday afternoon reaching the Bight on Monday. A new ridge of high
pressure will develop through central parts of the State in its wake.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 22 May
Showers about the South West and Lower West Districts, increasing later in the
morning, then extending north and east to reach areas southwest of a line
Kalbarri to Esperance by midnight. Thunderstorms possible over areas southwest
of a line from Lancelin to Northam to Albany. Moderate falls possible in the
Lower West and Southwest districts.
Forecast for Sunday 23 May
Showers throughout the South West Land Division, easing over inland parts
during the morning. Thunderstorms possible southwest of a line from Bunbury to
Albany, extending north to Perth in the afternoon. A band of showers extending
eastwards through the Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla during the day.
Forecast for Monday 24 May
Showers throughout the South West Land Division contracting to coastal parts
during the day and easing along the west coast in the afternoon. Thunderstorms
and small hail possible for south coastal districts west of Israelite Bay,
clearing in the afternoon and evening. A band of showers extending from the
western Pilbara, through the adjacent Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields, Interior
and Eucla, contracting east and easing during the day.
Forecast for Tuesday 25 May
Showers along the south coast, easing during the day.
