Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure lies in the Bight, with fresh and gusty east to southeasterly
winds again expected on Sunday morning over northern parts. The high moves over
eastern Australia on Monday, with east to southeast winds easing and a weak
trough developing over the western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight, with a cold front approaching from
the west. On Monday the front will reach the west coast during the afternoon.
The front will move through the South West Land Division during Tuesday then
weaken early Wednesday as a high pressure ridge develops in its wake.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 16 May
Possible light showers in the Southwest and adjacent districts. Light falls
anticipated.
Forecast for Monday 17 May
Showers developing southwest of a line from Denham to Albany, with possible
thunderstorms.
Forecast for Tuesday 18 May
Showers and possible thunderstorms extending through areas southwest of a line
from Carnarvon to Esperance.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 May
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division and the southern
Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
