Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies over the far western Pilbara. A ridge of high pressure over the
south of the State will lead to morning periods of fresh and gusty easterly
winds in the north. The trough through the western Pilbara will contract
eastwards over the Pilbara on Friday and Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies to the south of the State. A broad surface trough extends through
inland parts of the South West Land Division on Wednesday. A cold front will
approach the southwest of the State during Thursday and will cross the South
West Land Division and the southern Goldfields on Friday, before a ridge
quickly develops over the southern parts of the State in the wake of the front
on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 28 April
Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the far north Kimberley. Showers
possible along the southwest coast west of Albany.
Forecast for Thursday 29 April
Showers and possible thunderstorms southwest of a line from Mandurah to Albany,
increasing during the day. Showers extending to southwest of a line from
Dongara to Hopetoun during the afternoon and evening. Possible Thunderstorms
southwest of a line from Mandurah to Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Friday 30 April
Showers over the South West Land Division extending to the southern Goldfields
and the adjacent Eucla and Gascoyne during the day. Showers clearing from the
west during the day. Possible thunderstorms with squally winds over south coast
and adjacent inland areas, clearing east during the day.
Forecast for Saturday 1 May
Showers southwest of a line Perth to Albany and the south and Eucla coasts. The
chance of a thunderstorm in coastal areas between Augusta and Albany.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
