Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies inland from the west Pilbara coast and extends down through
the Gascoyne. The trough will remain near stationary over the coming days. A
tropical low lies well off the north Kimberley coast and will begin moving
towards the southwest, parallel to the Pilbara coast from Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A surface trough lies over the Goldfields and into the Eucla and continues to
move east. A new ridge develops south of the state on Saturday with another
trough to form near the west coast by early Sunday morning. This second trough
will move slowly through the South West Land Division on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 3 April
Showers with a chance of thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley and western
and central parts of the South West Land Division. Showers or morning drizzle
possible over remaining south coastal parts.
Forecast for Sunday 4 April
Showers with a chance of thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley, inland
Central West, Lower West, South West, South Coastal, southwest Great Southern
and the adjacent South East Coastal districts.
Forecast for Monday 5 April
Showers with a chance of thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley. A chance
of showers or thunderstorms over the South Coastal district and the adjacent
South West, Great Southern and South East Coastal districts.
Forecast for Tuesday 6 April
Showers with a chance of thunderstorms over the far north Kimberley. Possible
showers over the western south coast and adjacent parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
