Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A deepening trough lies over the western Pilbara and will gradually track east
this week and contract to inland parts by Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough lies from the South Interior to the Gascoyne and Central West
coast, and is expected to deepen down the west coast over the next few days. A
ridge of high pressure lies stationary to the south of the state, with a high
pressure system in the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 2 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the state away from the south coast.
Moderate falls possible in the Pilbara. Moderate to heavy falls, gusty winds
and hail possible with thunderstorms through central parts of the South West
Land Division and adjacent districts. Light showers possible near the south
coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 3 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
western Interior, and South West Land Division away from the south coast. Light
showers possible near the south coast.
Forecast for Thursday 4 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the state away from the Gascoyne and
west Pilbara coasts.
Forecast for Friday 5 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields, the Southeast Coastal district and Eucla. Light
showers possible over remaining parts of the Southwest Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
