Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Kimberley and inland Pilbara. A tropical low over
the southwest Kimberley is expected to track towards the southwest, and may
move offshore from the west Kimberley coast later Sunday and develop into a
Tropical Cyclone. It is then forecast to move roughly parallel to the Pilbara
coast during the coming week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is building south of the state. A trough will deepen
near the west coast over the coming days.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 31 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior and Gascoyne.
Rain areas over the southern Interior, eastern Goldfields and northern Eucla.
Squally winds and heavy falls possible over the western Kimberley and eastern
Pilbara.
Forecast for Monday 1 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne and
the northern Goldfields and Eucla. Squally winds and heavy falls possible over
the far western Kimberley and the central and eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne,
Goldfields and the Central Wheat Belt. Squally winds and heavy falls possible
over the central and western Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 3 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne,
Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Squally winds
and heavy falls possible over the western Pilbara and northwestern Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
