Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A tropical low is weakening as it contracts southeast through the Interior and
will move out of the State by late Sunday or during Monday. A monsoonal flow
will develop over the northwest Kimberley over the weekend, easing on Monday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep surface trough extends from the inland Gascoyne through central parts of
the South West Land Division and will contract slowly eastwards on Saturday and
Sunday as a weak front brushes the southwest of the State during Sunday. A
tropical low will move through the Interior district during Saturday and
Sunday. A new trough will begin to develop through central parts of the South
West Land Division on Monday and Tuesday as a ridge develops to the south of
the State.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 23 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Squally rain with heavy falls possible over the Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 24 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far eastern Pilbara, Interior,
eastern Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the Southeast Coastal
district. Heavy falls possible over the southeast Pilbara and the Interior.
Showers possible southwest of a line from Perth to Albany.

Forecast for Monday 25 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Kimberley, Interior, eastern
Goldfields and the Eucla with moderate to heavy falls possible over the South
Interior. Showers possible along the south coast west of Hopetoun.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Kimberley, eastern Interior. Showers
possible along the south coast east of Walpole.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
