Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A Tropical Low lies
northwest of the Kimberley coast. It may develop into a Tropical Cyclone and
approach the east Pilbara coast or west Kimberley coast late Friday and cross
the coast on Saturday. There is however still some uncertainty of the movement
and development of the system.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep surface trough lies inland from the west coast with a high pressure
ridge lying to the southeast of the State. The trough will build back towards
the west coast on Thursday before moving inland again on Friday. The trough
will then move east over the weekend, before a weak cold front brushes the
southwest corner on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 21 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and eastern parts of the
Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern South East Coastal and Eucla districts. Light
showers about the southern parts of the South Coastal and South West districts
early this morning.

Forecast for Friday 22 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and eastern parts of the
Gascoyne, Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and inland eastern parts of the
South West Land Division. Light showers about the western south coast. Heavy
falls possible near the west Kimberley coast, with windy conditions possibly
developing over the west Kimberley and east Pilbara.

Forecast for Saturday 23 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
Interior, Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Windy conditions and heavy rainfall possible over the west Kimberley
and east Pilbara.

Forecast for Sunday 24 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields, Eucla and far eastern parts of the Southeast
Coastal district. Heavy falls possible over the southeast Pilbara and the
Interior. Showers possible southwest of a line from Perth to Albany.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
