Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley to the inland Pilbara. The trough
may push off the Pilbara coast for periods over the next few mornings, but
should otherwise remain near stationary. A tropical low may develop over waters
north of WA during next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure lies south of the State. The ridge will begin
to contract slowly east on Sunday and Monday as a trough deepens near the the
west coast.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 17 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Interior and the Central West district.
Forecast for Monday 18 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, and
northwestern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Tuesday 19 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and
northern parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Wednesday 20 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and northern parts of the
Gascoyne. The chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the Great
Southern and the adjacent South Coastal district.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
