Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley to the inland Pilbara and will
remain near stationary over the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge lies to the southeast of the State with a
deepening surface trough lying off the west coast. The trough will move inland
from the west coast and through the South West Land Division on Saturday and
Sunday. A new ridge will begin to develop near the south coast in the wake of
the trough during Sunday before drifting south on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara and the
far northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, western Pilbara,
northwest Gascoyne, and western parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, western Pilbara,
southeast Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields and central and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division.
Forecast for Monday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, western Pilbara,
southeast Gascoyne, central Goldfield, western Eucla and northeast Central
Wheat Belt.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
