Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley to waters offshore from the Pilbara
coast. Fresh and gusty east southeasterly winds are expected over the Pilbara
this morning, before the trough moves inland on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge lies to the south of the State with a deepening
surface trough lying off the west coast. The trough continues to deepen on
Friday before moving inland from the west coast and through the South West Land
Division on Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northwest Gascoyne, and
far northwest Interior.
Forecast for Friday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, Pilbara and the
far northwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Saturday 9 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, western Pilbara,
northwest Gascoyne, and western parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 10 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, western Pilbara,
southeast Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields and central and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
