Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast to a broad area of low pressure
over the Kimberley.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies to the south of the State. A deep surface trough
extends from Lancelin through central parts of the South West Land Division. On
Friday the ridge to the south of the State will strengthen and the surface
trough will drift north out of the South West Land Division and into the
southern Gascoyne.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 31 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, southern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, western Interior and the western Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 1 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley, inland Pilbara, south
and west Interior, eastern Goldfields, eastern South Coastal, South East
Coastal and the Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 2 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley, inland Pilbara,
northeast Gascoyne, Interior, eastern Goldfields, South East Coastal and the
Eucla. Chance of a shower about the South Coastal.
Forecast for Sunday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, and Interior.
Showers about the south coast and the Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
