Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Pilbara through the inland Kimberley to a
tropical low off the north Kimberley coast. The tropical low is expected to
move over the Kimberley during the later part of Saturday or on Sunday and move
slowly south on Monday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies south of the State and a trough near the west coast. The trough
will drift inland during Saturday before moving back to the west coast on
Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 19 December
Squally showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley tending to rain in the
north. Heavy falls possible over the north and northeast Kimberley. Showers and
thunderstorms over central and eastern Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne,
northern Eucla, northern Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Sunday 20 December
Squally showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with possible heavy falls
in the north and east Kimberley and the adjacent Interior. Showers and storms
over the eastern Pilbara, Interior, northeast Gascoyne, northeast Goldfields
and the north Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 21 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and
the central and northern Interior. Heavy falls possible over the Kimberley and
North Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 22 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western Pilbara, and northern
Interior. Heavy falls possible over the Kimberley and North Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
