Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A light wind regime over northern districts with coastal sea breezes. Winds
freshen over the Pilbara for a period Friday morning as a ridge lies over
central parts of the state.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure over central parts of the State will weaken and move
east during Friday. A strong cold front will cross the west coast during
Saturday evening, and move over the south of the State on Sunday. Another front
will brush the south coast later Sunday and into Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 14 August
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to York to Windy Harbour, mainly
during the afternoon and evening. Showers about the remaining south coast and
Eucla coast.

Forecast for Saturday 15 August
A band of rain extending from the west to reach southwest of a line Carnarvon
to Esperance by evening. Moderate to heavy falls possible near the west coast
south of Kalbarri, light to moderate falls over the remainder. Showers and
isolated thunderstorms continuing in the wake of the rain band.

Forecast for Sunday 16 August
Showers southwest of a line Exmouth to Eucla, contracting to the southern
Goldfields, Eucla, and South West Land Division during the evening.
Thunderstorms and small hail possible in the South West Land Division, southern
Goldfields, and western Eucla. Moderate falls possible in the Lower West, South
West and South Coastal districts.

Forecast for Monday 17 August
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Israelite Bay and near the Eucla
coast, contracting to coastal parts in the evening. Possible small hail near
the south coast, contracting east during the day.
