Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies well south of the State and will move slowly east
during Saturday. A band of middle level cloud will approach the far western
Pilbara later on Saturday and move east through the Pilbara during Sunday and
Monday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high lies well to the south of the state and will move slowly east over the
next few days. A significant cold front and associated middle level cloud band
will approach the west coast later on Saturday, moving through the South West
Land Division and into the western Goldfields by Sunday evening and into the
Eucla on Monday. A cold, gusty and showery west to southwesterly flow will
continue in the wake of the front during Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 8 August
Morning frost through the southern Goldfields, adjacent South East Coastal
district, the northern Eucla and the southern Interior. Showers and the chance
of thunderstorms about the Eucla and south coast east of Esperance. Cloud
increasing near the west coast during the evening and rain developing towards
midnight. Areas of raised dust during the afternoon over the southern Gascoyne.

Forecast for Sunday 9 August
Rain increasing over western parts of the State, initially near the west coast
in the early morning, extending through to be west of a line from Barrow Island
to Israelite Bay by midnight. Windy conditions with blowing dust possible
through the inland Gascoyne, and northern Goldfields ahead of the rain.
Thunderstorms possible southwest of Geraldton to Albany. Moderate to heavy
falls likely over the western Gascoyne and western and northern part of the
South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 10 August
Patchy rain through the central Pilbara far eastern Gascoyne, western Interior
and Eucla. Showers easing over remaining inland parts of the Gascoyne, the
Goldfields and South West Land Division. The risk of thunderstorms near the
west coast south of Geraldton and over southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Showers in the South West Land Division but mainly confined to
western and southern parts by the evening.

Forecast for Tuesday 11 August
Showers in the South West Land Division and the Eucla, contracting to coastal
parts by the evening. Showers in the Interior contracting eastwards during the
day. Chance of a thunderstorm near the Eucla coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
