Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak ridge of high pressure is retreating eastwards out of the Interior of
the State as a cloud band moves over the western Pilbara on Friday before
extending into the remaining Pilbara and Interior over the weekend and contract
eastwards in Central Australia on Monday. A trough will develop near the
eastern Pilbara and Kimberley coasts on Saturday as a ridge develops through
central parts of the State.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge of high pressure is retreating eastwards out of the Interior of
the State as a cold front and middle level cloud band extend over western and
central WA. These systems move into South Australia on Saturday. A ridge will
develop across central parts of the state on Saturday with a showery westerly
flow continuing over southern districts. The ridge will drift towards the south
coast on Sunday before a strong high pressure system moves into the Bight on
Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 17 July
A rain band extends over eastern parts of the South West Land Division, the
western Pilbara, Gascoyne Goldfields and Eucla eases and contracts east during
the day. Cold and showery over the remaining parts of the South West Land
Division easing and contracting to coastal areas in the evening with possible
hail in the southwest. Possible thunderstorms over southwestern parts of the
South West Land Division and the Gascoyne coast, most likely during the morning.

Forecast for Saturday 18 July
Showers over the west coast and over southern coastal districts and the
adjacent Great Southern. Patchy rain over the Pilbara and northwest Interior.
Areas of morning frost through northeastern parts of the South West Land
Division, southeast Gascoyne and the western Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 19 July
Showers over southern coastal districts and along the west coast south of
Jurien Bay. Patchy rain over the Pilbara and central Interior. Areas of morning
frost over the South Interior and the northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 20 July
Showers along and south coast and Eucla coast. Patchy rain over the eastern
South Interior clearing east.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
