Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A large high pressure system lies in the Bight and will move to lie over
southeastern Australia over the next few days. Fresh east to southeasterly
winds over the north of the State will ease as the high retreats and cold front
approaches the west coast during Monday. The front will cross the south of the
State during Tuesday before a weak ridge develops over southern parts on
Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A large high pressure system lies in the Bight and will move to lie over
southeastern Australia over the next few days. A cold front will move across
the southwest on Tuesday. A weak ridge develops over southern parts on
Wednesday with a cold front and middle level cloud band over western parts of
the State during Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 13 July
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Albany, extending to include western
and central parts of the South West Land Division and the southwestern Gascoyne
during the afternoon and evening. Possible thunderstorms over the South West,
Lower West, western Great Southern and the adjacent Central West districts
during the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Tuesday 14 July
Showers and possible squally thunderstorms over western parts of the South West
Land Division. Showers over the western and southern Gascoyne, remaining South
West Land Division and western and southern Goldfields. Heavy falls possible
over the South West district and adjacent parts. Damaging winds possible over
southwestern parts.
Forecast for Wednesday 15 July
Mainly light showers near the west coast south of Dongara and the south coast
west of Albany.
Forecast for Thursday 16 July
A rain band extending over the western Gascoyne and the South West Land
Division during the late afternoon and evening. Showers and possible
thunderstorms developing about the SW Capes Thursday late Thursday night.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
