Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A large high pressure system lies over southeastern WA and extends a ridge over
the entire state leading to a fresh east to southeasterly airstream over
northern parts. The high contracts east on Sunday and Monday with winds
beginning to ease on Monday as a cold front approaches the west coast. The
front will cross the south of the State during Tuesday before a weak ridge
develops over southern parts on Wednesday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A large high pressure system lies over southeast WA and extends a ridge over
the entire state. The high and ridge contracts east on Sunday and Monday. A
weak cold front will brush the southwest corner of the state overnight Sunday
followed by another more significant cold front that crosses the south of the
state on Tuesday. A weak ridge develops over southern parts on Wednesday in the
wake of the front.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 12 July
Showers and possible thunderstorms developing over the South West district in
the afternoon and evening. Showers extending to areas southwest of a line Perth
to Albany during the evening.

Forecast for Monday 13 July
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Albany, extending to include western
and central parts of the South West Land Division and the southwestern Gascoyne
during the afternoon and evening. Possible thunderstorms over the South West,
Lower West, western South Coastal and the adjacent Central West districts.

Forecast for Tuesday 14 July
Showers and possible squally thunderstorms over western parts of the South West
Land Division. Showers and possible thunderstorms over the western Gascoyne,
remaining parts of South West Land Division and southeast Goldfields. Showers
over remaining parts of southern and western Gascoyne and the central
Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 15 July
Showers over the south and western parts of the southwest Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
