Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
With a ridge of high pressure over the southern parts of the State for the next
few days a moderate to fresh easterly regime will dominate the weather pattern
in the Northern parts of the State.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge will develop over the Central Wheat Belt and Goldfields during
Wednesday. A high pressure system will form in the Bight during Thursday with
the ridge continuing to extend over the southern parts of the State. On Friday
a weak cold front will brush over the Lower West and South West districts. A
strong cold front will approach the southwest during Saturday, with a cloud
band forming ahead of the front and moving over the Central West and Lower West
late in the day.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 24 June
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division and the
far southwest Gascoyne.
Forecast for Thursday 25 June
Showers over the South West and about the south coast.
Forecast for Friday 26 June
Showers extending to southwest of a line Kalbarri to Hopetoun. Moderate falls
in the west with thunderstorms possible south of Perth. Light falls over
eastern parts.
Forecast for Saturday 27 June
Showers southwest of a line Denham to Southern Cross to Hopetoun. Moderate
falls in the west, and light falls over eastern parts. Thunderstorms possible
in the South West district.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
