Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge to the south will weaken as a cold front moves across southern parts of
the State during today and Thursday, as a trough moves across the Pilbara. A
new ridge of high pressure develops over southern parts in the wake of the cold
front on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front will move across southern and central parts of the State
during today and Thursday. A ridge will then develop over southern parts of the
state on Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 17 June
Showers developing over western coastal parts south of Jurien Bay and southwest
of Mandurah to Walpole during the morning and then extending to southwest of a
line Carnarvon to Esperance by midnight. Gusty thunderstorms extending through
the South West Land Division during the day, with possible damaging wind gusts
southwest of a line from Mandurah to Bremer Bay.
Forecast for Thursday 18 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, contracting to near coastal parts
south of Jurien Bay during the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms and small
hail possible south of Mandurah to Israelite Bay, easing during the day.
Showers through remaining parts of the State southwest of a line from Exmouth
to Eucla, gradually clearing from northern parts during the day.
Forecast for Friday 19 June
Morning showers about the south coast. Morning frost possible about the western
Goldfields, southeast Gascoyne and inland central parts of the Southwest Land
Division.
Forecast for Saturday 20 June
Morning showers about the south coast east of Albany. Morning frost possible
about the western Central Wheat Belt, South East Coast, Goldfields, inland
Eucla and South Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
