Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge extends from southeastern Australia across WA which will weaken over
the next couple of days. A low pressure trough will lie over the far west
Pilbara before moving eastwards during Friday and weakens over the central
Pilbara on Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure system and trough lie near the southwest corner of the State.
The trough will extend across the western half of WA as the low passes south of
the State during the day. A moderate cold front is set to move through southern
parts later today and into Friday. Another ridge develops over central parts of
the state on Saturday and continues into Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 11 June
Showers extending from western coastal parts to reach southwest of a line Coral
Bay to Leonora to Eyre by evening. Showers also possible near the western
Pilbara coast. Thunderstorms over the South West Land Division and southern
Goldfields. Moderate to heavy falls possible over far western parts of the
Southwest Land Division, grading to lighter falls inland.
Forecast for Friday 12 June
Showers southwest of a line Karratha to Warburton, easing from the west during
the day. Thunderstorms possible south of a line Lancelin to Kalgoorlie to
Eucla, clearing from the west during the day. Small hail is also possible about
southern coastal districts between Cape Leeuwin and Esperance.
Forecast for Saturday 13 June
Showers near coastal parts of the Southwest Land Division and adjacent inland
southwest areas. Showers also near the Eucla coast and South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 14 June
Showers over southwestern parts of the Southwest Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
