Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure over southern Australia will persist over the coming days. A low pressure trough will lie over the west Pilbara from Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies south of the state and will gradually move eastwards reaching southeast Australia by Monday. A weak low pressure system and trough will approach the west coast later today and sit near the coast during Sunday. The trough will then push back off the west coast and weaken further on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 6 June
Showers developing about the South West Capes during the afternoon and extending to areas southwest of Perth to Walpole in the evening. The chance of thunderstorms southwest of Mandurah to Walpole in the late afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Sunday 7 June
Showers about coastal and adjacent inland parts between Kalbarri and Albany with the risk of thunderstorms near the coast, most likely in the morning.
Forecast for Monday 8 June
Showers southwest of Busselton to Albany.
Forecast for Tuesday 9 June
Showers southwest of Busselton to Albany. Areas of morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt, southern Goldfields, southern Interior and the Eucla.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
