Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough is expected to persist near the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts over
the next few days, however it will push off of the eastern Pilbara and
southwest Kimberley coast for a period Sunday and Monday morning.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure over the south of the State, is expected to weaken
near the west coast as a trough develops just inland. The trough is expected to
move inland later today, as a weak cold front brushes the southwest of the
State from later overnight into Saturday. Another ridge becomes established in
the wake of the front late Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 24 April
Showers about the Southwest and western South Coastal districts. Showers
possibly extending up the west coast to Perth in the evening. Patchy rain
developing over the Midwest in the evening. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm
about the northeast Gascoyne, southwest Interior and the adjacent Goldfields
and also over the Eucla later in the day.
Forecast for Saturday 25 April
Patchy rain through the southern Gascoyne, Central Wheat Belt and the
Goldfields. Showers over the remaining South West Land Division, clearing east
by evening. Mainly light falls. Chance of thunderstorms over the northern
Goldfields.
Forecast for Sunday 26 April
Showers about the south coast west of Israelite Bay. A chance of a shower or
thunderstorm about the northern Goldfields, southern Interior and the central
Gascoyne.
Forecast for Monday 27 April
Chance of showers or thunderstorm over the southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and
Interior. Chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm near the northwest
Kimberley coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
