Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara and will
push off of the eastern Pilbara and southwest Kimberley coasts for a period on
Wednesday and Thursday morning. A trough will move through the eastern Pilbara
and Interior on Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is becoming established over central WA. The ridge
will remain across central parts of the State over the coming days as a weak
cold front brushes the western south coast during today. A trough will deepen
and move east through eastern parts of the South West Land Division, South
Interior and Eucla on Friday and Saturday ahead of another weak front that
brushes the south coast on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 22 April
Showers southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Showers with the chance of a
thunderstorm over the northeast Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla, and the
adjacent Gascoyne. The chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm about the
northwestern Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 23 April
Showers about coastal and adjacent parts between Lancelin and Israelite Bay,
contracting to the south coast west of Albany during the day. Showers and
thunderstorms over the South Interior and Eucla, with a chance of an afternoon
shower or thunderstorm about the southwest Kimberley coast.
Forecast for Friday 24 April
Showers about the Southwest and western South Coastal districts. A chance of a
showers about the far northern Kimberley coast.
Forecast for Saturday 25 April
Showers about southern and central parts of the South West Land Division and
far southwest Goldfields, with mainly light falls inland. Showers with a chance
of a thunderstorm over the Eucla and South Interior. A chance of an afternoon
shower or thunderstorms about the far north Kimberley coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
