Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara and will
persist for the next few days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing over southern parts. A trough will begin
to form near the west coast from Thursday and move inland of the west coast on
Saturday as a cold front approaches the southwest in the evening. It will move
through the Southwest Land Division during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 16 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the far west Kimberley and inland
western Pilbara. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in a band over the inland
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Interior. Morning light showers or
drizzle possible near the south and southwest coast.
Forecast for Friday 17 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the far west and north Kimberley,
inland western Pilbara, central Gascoyne and South Interior and the far
northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Saturday 18 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the far west Kimberley. Light showers
developing southwest of Lancelin to Kalgoorlie to Eyre.
Forecast for Sunday 19 April
Showers and thunderstorms possible over the far northwest Kimberley. Showers
southwest of a line Geraldton to Kalgoorlie to Eucla. Chance of thunderstorms
near the southwest coast of the Southwest Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
