Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough extends through the Pilbara and North Interior and will contract northwards over the weekend. The trough will move offshore from the western Pilbara during morning periods over the next few days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A new ridge of high pressure is building rapidly over the south of the State during Friday. The ridge contracts south during Saturday with a trough starting to develop offshore from the west coast. The trough will deepen on Sunday and Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 3 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the north and east Kimberley. Showers about the south and Eucla coasts, extending to adjacent inland parts for a period during the day.

Forecast for Saturday 4 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley. Light showers about the south coast.

Forecast for Sunday 5 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley coast and far eastern Kimberley and adjacent northeast Interior. Patchy light rain with the chance of a thunderstorm about the Gascoyne, Central West, northern parts of the Central Wheat Belt and adjacent Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 6 April
Showers and thunderstorms about the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and eastern Central Wheat Belt. Possible showers and thunderstorms about the southern Goldfields and Eucla in the afternoon or evening.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
