Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough extends through the Kimberley and Pilbara and down into the Interior. Little change to this weather pattern is expected over the coming days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the Gascoyne towards the Eucla with a cold front passing over mainly southern districts for the remainder of Tuesday before weakening and moving into the Bight early Wednesday. A low pressure system will move south of the State in wake of the front maintaining a fresh to strong onshore flow over the southwest before a ridge of high pressure extends along the south coast early Thursday. The ridge will drift south of the state by Friday with a new trough developing near the west coast by Friday afternoon.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 17 March
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Hopetoun with thunderstorms about coastal and adjacent areas between Bunbury and Albany. Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley coast, southwestern Interior, northeast Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Wednesday 18 March
Showers southwest of Geraldton to Esperance and along the remaining eastern south coast, clearing northern parts during the day. Possible morning thunderstorms near the western south coast. Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, inland Pilbara, western Interior, eastern Goldfields and the Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 19 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and west Kimberley, west Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Goldfields, western Interior and northern parts of the Central West district.

Forecast for Friday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley, Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms for the northwest Kimberley, northern Gascoyne, southwest Pilbara, and southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Areas of rain over the southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, western Eucla and the remaining South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
